The first step is to reach out by email or phone to book an initial consultation. From there, we’ll arrange a first session where you can share your story, ask questions, and begin shaping the path ahead.
At this time, my practice focuses on individual counselling for adults. My approach works well for those at a turning point in life, seeking clarity, healing, or a renewed sense of direction.
My session fees align with the recommended rates of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Receipts are provided and may be covered by your extended health benefits. Please check with your provider to confirm your coverage.
The connection between client and therapist is vital. If you ever feel we’re not the right match, I encourage you to share that openly. I can also help connect you with another therapist who may be a better fit — your healing journey is the priority.
Yes. Therapy is a private and confidential space. The only exceptions, as required by law, are if there is risk of harm to yourself or others, or concerns about child or elder safety. We’ll review confidentiality fully in our first session so you feel safe and informed.
Currently, I offer secure virtual counselling, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own space. This makes therapy more flexible and accessible, no matter where you are in the province.
Most people begin with weekly sessions, which provide consistency and momentum. Over time, sessions may become less frequent as you feel more confident navigating on your own. We’ll find a pace that fits your needs and goals.
Every journey is unique. Some clients notice changes within a few sessions, while for others the process takes longer. Together we’ll regularly reflect on your progress to ensure you feel supported and moving in the right direction.
Think of me less as someone handing you a map, and more as a guide walking beside you. Rather than telling you what to do, I’ll help you explore your own options, strengths, and insights — so the choices you make feel authentic and sustainable.
Therapy can help with a wide range of issues, from stress, anxiety, and depression to relationship struggles, life transitions, grief, and trauma. It can also be a space for personal growth, building resilience, and rediscovering meaning or direction in life.
Many people seek therapy when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their next steps. If you find yourself at a “fork in the road” and unsure which direction to take, therapy can provide perspective, clarity, and support as you decide how to move forward.
Our first session is about mapping the trail together. I’ll invite you to share what brings you in, what you hope for, and any concerns you may have. From there, we’ll begin shaping a path forward that feels supportive and realistic for you.
A “Little Known Fact” – Inspiration for the Name.
Archimedes: Ancient Engineer, Timeless Inspiration
Archimedes was a Greek engineer, inventor, and mathematician who lived more than two thousand years ago. Known for his cry of “Eureka!” when he discovered the principle of buoyancy, he embodied the joy of sudden insight and the power of human curiosity. His famous declaration, “Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world” reminds us that even the biggest challenges can shift if we find the right leverage. Beyond science, Archimedes’ legacy speaks to timeless themes: discovery, resilience, and the belief that change is always possible. His words still inspire us to rise above struggle, kindle our inner fire, and move toward clarity and transformation.
The Wisdom of Owls
Across cultures, owls have long symbolized wisdom—the quiet ability to see clearly in the dark, to perceive what others might miss, and to guide with calm insight. In the classic Disney film The Sword in the Stone, Merlin’s owl Archimedes embodied this spirit. He was loyal, perceptive, and always ready to shine light on young Arthur’s path as he discovered who he was meant to be.
In naming my practice after Archimedes, I draw on both meanings: the ancient Greek thinker who moved the world with ideas, and the wise old owl who supported a journey of growth and self-discovery. Like the owl, counselling offers a safe perch—a place to pause, see more clearly, and gain perspective.
